It is no different than wearing glasses if you need help to see.
My hearing loss is congenital, so I’ve known since I was very young. Although I have not always worn hearing aids, I realized how much more I enjoy life with them, especially now that microprocessors have made them so good for all types of loss. When I connected with Hawaii Professional Audiology, I felt anticipation about how much aids could help me. The team was professional and caring, willing to go out of their way to help and with a long term commitment to clients. Wearing hearing aids has allowed me to enjoy work so much more because I did not have stress about hearing people when speaking to them. The “music” setting also lets me enjoy choirs and symphonic music more. I would say, go, trust them, and get the hearing aids if you need them. You’ll be so happy you did. It is no different than wearing glasses if you need help to see. You will enjoy what you’ve been missing.

Being able to hear clearly was a major breakthrough in my life.
I felt like I was handicapped, a very serious disability. I was concerned that I may not have my hearing fully restored, but my first visit to Hawaii Professional Audiology was a very pleasant experience. The staff was very helpful and always there when I needed help with my hearing aids. Being able to hear clearly was a major breakthrough in my life, a 100% turnaround. HPA are very professional and helpful. You will feel fully satisfied after working with them.

What stood out to me was how well Doc Shayla understood what I was describing (due to her own experience with hearing loss), which was something I hadn’t experienced.
I experienced constant ringing and a fuzziness or lack of sharp, distinct words, but I can’t recall the exact moment I realized something was wrong. I didn’t have concerns before contacting Hawaii Professional Audiology, since I’d seen audiologists before. What stood out to me was how well Doc Shayla understood what I was describing (due to her own experience with hearing loss), which was something I hadn’t experienced. Hearing aids now allow me to be a little more open, and they signal to others that I have hearing loss, so I don’t have to keep asking people to repeat themselves. My favorite thing about working with the clinic is Doc Shayla.

Now, I can hear better, enjoy the sound of birds chirping again, and I don't have to ask people to repeat what they have said.
It just seemed to have crept up. I was having much difficulty hearing and understanding people who were speaking to me, and I kept asking them to speak louder or repeat themselves. I was unsure if a hearing aid could truly help me to hear better, but my first impression of Hawaii Professional Audiology was so positive. The entire staff and office were welcoming, friendly, and very professional. Now, I can hear better, enjoy the sound of birds chirping again, and I don't have to ask people to repeat what they have said. Visiting the office is always a good experience because they really listen to me and totally resolve all my hearing issues. I would strongly encourage anyone concerned about their hearing to visit the clinic. You will be treated very well, listened to, and will feel like the staff are your friends.

They have been helping me for so many years now, they are OHANA.
When I first realized the problem I was having with my hearing, I could not hear my friends speaking and everything sounded like bees buzzing. I felt very miserable and ashamed. My main concern was hoping that they could help me understand what was happening to me. When I first visited Hawaii Professional Audiology, my impressions were good. I felt they were very professional. Wearing hearing aids has improved my life, even though there are still moments when conversation comes in garbled. But it is better than not wearing them. I enjoy meeting with the folks at the clinic. They have been helping me for so many years now, they are OHANA. If you are concerned about your hearing, please set up a visit. You will not regret it.

If you're concerned about your hearing and considering visiting, go. They're awesome.
I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when I noticed I was asking people to repeat themselves too often. Before contacting Hawaii Professional Audiology, I was mostly worried about how much it would cost. I didn't have many expectations, but I was very satisfied with the level of care. As a teacher, being able to hear my students and co-workers is critical to my job, and I don't think I could do it without my hearing aids. My favorite thing about working with the clinic is that the audiologist spoke slowly and clearly, and they still offered support with writing letters and spare parts years after I'd last seen them. If you're concerned about your hearing and considering visiting, go. They're awesome.
